In case you've been living under a rock, Mortal Kombat been out for years about as long as Street Fighter. I believe the first MK game was out in the arcades in 1992 (my age is showing). Back then, my parents wouldn't even let me play the game because of the suggested violence and heads getting ripped off (didn't stop me from going over a friends house to play it). Enough of the childhood memories its 2015. Since then, its been a gang of MK games that were either great like MK3/UMK3 or flat out terrible like MK: Deception, MK vs DC, etc. After those floppers, Midway (the old publisher) went into the dark ages. Around 2011, a new MK was on the prowl in MK9 for the Xbox360/PS3 and boy it was great however at the time there were other awesome fighters out that by far more strategic and had the depth that MK9 lacked by high level tournament standards. Casually MK9 had everything a MK fan would love in terms of content which edge out its competitor at the time Marvel vs Capcom 3. Unfortunately, the tournament heads felt different. Now, here is MKX and boy did NRS/Warner Bros up the standards in today fighting games in all aspects ESPECIALLY HIGH LEVEL TOURNAMENT PLAY. It delivers yet again an amazing and cohesive story mode that interactable (like God of War). Tons of on disc content and modes but screw that the most important thing it delivers is META GAME tactics which every character (25 characters playable on disc) has 3 different variations to choose from which is a blessing. No longer do you have to run away from your favorite character in certain match ups where he or she gets bodied! As a Jax of 20 years thats amazing. In closing I give this game a 9/10 only taking a point off because I was kind of annoyed with the fact that the 360/PS3 versions don't come out until June (but the damn iphone/pad version is out now? smh!!). I guess I will have to drop $329 on a Xbox one (Yea right I'm going to a friends house for now) below is game footage of the first official MKX tournament. Capcom has alot of learning to do if they expect just to release SFV of selling a game on just a franchise name! By the way, I'm a Capcom fan boy and right now I'm not impressed with Street Fighter V's early beta.
